Side by Side: Honoring Tim

Co-founder of REAL LIFE Ministries

(1955 – 2020)

If you never had the chance to meet Tim, I wish you had.
His steady presence and confident strength made people feel safe.
Before stepping into full-time ministry, Tim served for decades as a firefighter, eventually retiring as Deputy Fire Chief.
That role shaped not only what he did—but who he was.

Tim was strong in crisis, decisive under pressure, and deeply committed to protecting what mattered most.
Whether he was putting out a physical fire or an emotional fire, Tim brought clarity, courage, and conviction—refusing to shrink back from what was hard and always pressing toward what was true. He lived with a fierce commitment to justice—always anchored in love.

Tim left a mark not just through the work he did, but in the lives he touched.
He was steady, honest, and full of joy.

As a husband, father, friend, and mentor, he modeled the kind of love that changes people—it changed me.

For decades, we worked side by side—counseling couples, encouraging individuals, and offering tools to navigate the messy, meaningful, and often complicated parts of life and relationships.

Our work together flowed from a deep belief that restoration wasn’t just a concept—it was a reality we both experienced.
That belief shaped everything we did together.

Since Tim’s passing in 2020, that work continues.
His fingerprints are woven throughout everything he put his hand to—including this ministry.
And his voice still echoes through mine as I carry forward the heart of what God built in us.

“May the God who is both great and good, make your marriage stronger and your hearts braver. May He create not only a willingness to die for your marriage but also a passion to live for it.”
